GOOD MORNING! TAKE A COFFE!

PRENDIAMO UN CAFFÈ! Cafe Italian as a culture.

Let's have a coffee, please! A caffè (or caffè normale) is simply an espresso,a brief yet potent dose of black coffee that is appropriate at any time. Italians frequently drink coffee after meals or in the afternoon as a pick-me-up.

For a double shot of espresso, you can order

a caffè doppio, however this is uncommon

in Italy. Simply stop by your favorite barista

several times a day if you need an extra boost

of caffeine; you won't be alone.

MIX IT UP or BLEND IT.

Italians have made a number of modifications to the potent espresso over the years. Try something new by ordering them at Lavazza in Eataly.

Caffè macchiato :

Macchiato or White coffee or Macchiato coffee

For the softer side of coffee, enjoy this espresso “marked” with a splash of frothy milk. Unlike the breakfast drinks, this lightly milky caffè can be enjoyed as frequently as caffè normale.

 Caffè corretto :

Coffee with alcohol

Literally translated to “corrected coffee,” this drink features espresso with a splash of alcohol, such as grappa or sambuca.

Caffè americano :

American coffee

After trying drip coffee in the United States, Italians decided to offer tourists a taste of home. Their interpretation: espresso diluted with plenty of hot water.

 Caffè lungo :

Long coffee

This “long coffee” comprises espresso with a splash of hot water but is stronger than the americano.

To blend in: To-go cups are not common in Italy because the coffee experience is meant to be shared with others and in moderation.
